END TO END PROTEIN OPTIMISATION SOLUTION

Kcat Enzymatic is an enzyme/protein engineering group that specializes in providing optimised enzymes for your applications. We explore the transition and intermediate states of biocatalytic reactions and capture transient events of a reaction at the atomic and electronic level. We implement our internally developed algorithms to examine and derive focused libraries of enzymes with desired properties.

ENZYMATIC DECODING ®

Using our proprietary method ENZYMATIC DECODING ®, we discover new biocatalytic routes for chemistries using Active Site Repurposing Technology. We have developed an in-house database that contains ~35000 enzyme structures integrated into quantum chemical grids. The objective is to find non-infringing enzymes for existing biocatalytic reactions and identify new enzymatic routes for tough chemical reactions.

INDUSTRIAL SCALE-UP

Our end products are enzyme samples that are tailored to match a specific cost
window. This must be tested at the Scale-up industrial bioprocess production level; it
starts from enzyme engineering, and organism engineering to large-scale process optimization. What was at the lab-scale production previously (gram level production) has been upgraded to kilogram scale level production using both engineered enzymes and organisms.

Our team develops algorithms to study the mysterious nature of enzymes, mechanistic details of reactions, and atomistic and energetic details of chemical reactions fitted inside an enzyme; to engineer industrially viable biocatalysts.

For example, let us jot down some of the challenges in this field like the impact of higher substrate concentration, temperature, and varying pH on the enzymes in a bioreactor. All of the above are rate-limiting factors in whole-cell biocatalysis and can be solved using computational methods.

Our Biotech Lab is situated in Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC), Electronic City, Bangalore. A formidable team with 36 years of cumulative experience in cloning and protein expression. The lab has the technical capabilities, manufacturing capacities, and geographical reach to excel and grow

The lab facility can execute high throughput screening of enzyme variants and develop enzyme assays for scale-up biocatalysis.

At present, we can produce enzymes and test up to 30 g/L of substrate conversion. We are also developing a faster method for engineering enzymes integrated with cutting-edge technology CRISPR-Cas9.

He has a double doctorate in Computational Biology & Chemistry and Protein engineering. With 18 years of industrial experience working on different projects related to target deconvolution studies and enzyme engineering studies, his main interest is to develop technologies that make enzyme engineering and protein optimization, easy & faster to accelerate economic growth and opportunity.

He holds an M.Tech in Machine Learning and has been in the Software Industry for 10 years. He has a strong technical expertise in Artificial Intelligence and different programming languages. He is highly fascinated by the way proteins and enzymes work and hence currently is pursuing research in understanding the proteins with AI. He implements AI to tap crucial information about how a single mutation can change the stereospecificity of a protein.
