Greenitrilase®
The Greenitrilase® enzyme assay kit consists of engineered nitrilase enzymes that can be used for the biocatalysis of nitriles into carboxylic acids and amides.
Variants showing minimal activity against the required substrate can be a good starting point for further engineering to improve activity and organic solvent tolerance.
Nitrilases can hydrolyze nitriles into their corresponding carboxylic acids and ammonia, making them promising alternatives to traditional chemical catalysts. Owing to their inherent stereo-, regio-, and chemoselectivity, nitrilases have attracted increasing attention, especially in the synthesis of fine chemicals with chiral centers.
